IAEA and the Minister of Trade and Industry to Halden

We are happy to announce that Jan Christian Vestre, the Minister of Trade and Industry will open the new DECOM cluster together with Anne Kari Holm, the Mayor of Halden.

Decommissioning means the intriguing, extensively and compounding builddown of man-made facilities such as waste facilities, oil platforms, ships, dams, factories, and nuclear facilities.

The need of competence within the field of decommissioning has increased enormously during the last few years and will continue to do so in the future.

In Halden, Institute for Energy Technology and Norwegian Nuclear Decommissioning already possess a vast knowledge within the field of decom, and together with Smart Innovation Norway, Kongsberg Innovation, NORSUS, Halden municipality and Halden næringsutvikling they have founded a national cluster to strengthen, increase and gather expertise.

Cluster for decommissioning and repurposing is launching 4 April, 2022, and we are proud to announce that the Minister of Trade and Industries Jan Christian Vestre and representatives from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will attend the opening.
